Income isn’t wealth

Income is what comes in. Wealth is what you keep and own.

A higher income is one part of the picture. Assets, liabilities, reserves, and consistent contributions help you understand the rest. Wealth Starter brings those pieces into one first plan.

The Silent Default framework

Stabilize. Build. Compound.

Stabilize

Map essential expenses, reserves, and required obligations.

Build

Choose a goal and model a contribution that you can review against cash flow.

Compound

Explore how time, contributions, and hypothetical returns change the illustration.

Net worth

Know what you own. Know what you owe.

Assets − liabilities = net worth.

The planned tracker uses your manual estimates and dated snapshots. Shared debts count once across Silent Default. Balance changes alone are not labeled investment performance.

Emergency reserve planner

Give your foundation a number.

Model essential monthly expenses × your chosen reserve months. Compare the target with current reserves and explore contributions toward the gap. One, three, and six months are planning presets, not universal recommendations.

Wealth goals

Turn “someday” into something you can review.

Retirement. A home. Education. Business capital. A goal of your own. The full workspace will connect a target amount, date, and current progress to your contribution illustration.

The Math Nobody Does

Try the fictional example or enter your own assumptions. This calculator does not save or send your financial inputs.

Fictional example — not your financial results

Calculated assumptions: $5,000.00 starting · $300.00/month · 20 years · 6% nominal annual return.

Total contributed
$77,000.00
Hypothetical growth
$78,163.29
Illustrated ending value
$155,163.29

Contributions versus hypothetical growth

Contributions including starting amount$77,000.00

Modeled growth/loss$78,163.29

Modeled balance$155,163.29

The center line is zero. Losses extend left; positive values extend right. All three bars share one scale at the selected point. Contributions include the starting amount; growth or loss explains the difference from the modeled balance, subject to cent rounding.

Growth is based on the selected hypothetical return assumption and is not guaranteed investment performance. Values are nominal; inflation adjustment, when selected, is shown separately in the scenario summary.

Hypothetical illustration — not a forecast or guarantee. Nominal annual return divided by 12; contributions at month-end. Contribution increases occur after each 12 active months. No fees or taxes modeled. During a delay, starting cash earns no return and no monthly contributions are made. Inflation adjustment uses the selected effective annual inflation assumption. This sample uses no delay, contribution increase, or inflation adjustment. Investments can lose value.

Start now vs. later

Same finish date. Different starting point.

Separate fictional example: $5,000 starting cash, $300 at each active month-end, a 20-year horizon, and 6% hypothetical nominal annual return. In the delayed case, starting cash earns no return and contributions begin after five years. No fees, taxes, inflation, or contribution increases.

Start now

$155,163.29

Contributed: $77,000.00

Start after five years

$99,516.08

Contributed: $59,000.00

Illustrated ending-value difference: $55,647.21.

This difference reflects both contribution timing and fewer contributions. Hypothetical illustration only, not a forecast or guarantee.

Before you start

Clear answers. No fine-print surprises.

Does Silent Default tell me what stocks to buy?

No. Wealth Starter focuses on foundations, account education, contribution planning, and hypothetical math. It does not select securities or a portfolio for you.

Are the illustrated returns guaranteed?

No. You choose hypothetical return assumptions. Actual outcomes may differ materially, and investments can lose value.

Is this investment advice?

No. This is an educational planning product, not individualized investment or retirement advice.

Can I track my net worth?

The full workspace is being built to track manually entered assets and liabilities, with dated snapshots. The public calculator on this page does not save a financial profile.

Can it connect to my brokerage?

Not in V1. No brokerage or banking credentials are requested.

What if I still have debt?

You can compare debt costs and cash-flow priorities with Debt Payoff. Wealth Starter does not universally require all debt to be eliminated before planning.

Educational use

Understand the illustration before acting.

Silent Default provides educational tools and hypothetical mathematical illustrations based on entered information and assumptions. It does not provide individualized investment, securities, legal, tax, accounting, lending, or retirement advice. Returns are not guaranteed, investments can lose value, and actual outcomes may differ materially. Verify current account rules, eligibility, fees, tax treatment, and provider terms before acting.
